Membership

Welcome to CMAA Connecticut!

Still not a member?

Thank you for your new membership in CMAA; we are glad to have you with us here in Connecticut.  We hope you will get involved with our many activities. To that end, it important to know a few things about how the CMAA CT Chapter and CMAA National handle membership, registrations, etc.

  1. You are a member of CMAA National first and CMAA CT Chapter second.
    1. This means that all of your company and contact information is entered/edited at the national level and the CMAA CT Chapter receives that information on a monthly basis. We refer to this as ‘Importing’ or ‘Import Period’.
    2. If you change your company and/or contact information only on the CMAA CT Chapter’s website, your changes may be lost at the next Import Period.
    3. Your six (6) digit member ID is assigned by CMAA National.
  2. Your CMAA CT Chapter login username and password may be different from the username and password you use to log into your CMAA National account.
    1. CMAA National uses a username that you create. This username can be your email address, your six (6) digit member ID, or anything you would like it to be.
    2. Here in the CMAA CT Chapter you can log into your account using your email address or six (6) digit member ID. You do not create a username.
    3. Here in the CMAA CT Chapter your password is set by you. Please refer to ‘Logging in for the First Time in Connecticut?’ for more information.
    4. It is strongly recommended that you edit your login information for both CMAA National and the CMAA CT Chapter to match to avoid any unnecessary confusion
  3. When registering for events and programs, you must login to your account to register as a member.
    1. When you click a ‘Register Now’ button on the CMAA CT Chapter’s website you will be asked to either login or to continue as a Guest. Guests do not have the option to purchase member rate tickets.
  4. If you have just joined CMAA or recently transferred to the CMAA CT Chapter and you are not able to login shortly thereafter it is most likely due to the fact that the CMAA CT Chatper has not yet completed the Importing process for that month and has not received your up-to-date information. We ask for your patience as we are all volunteers here in the Connecticut Chapter. Please refer to ‘Just Joined CMAA or Recently Transferred to the CMAA CT Chapter?’ for an easy and temporary work around.

Logging in for the First Time Here in Connecticut?

We are excited to see you at our upcoming events, but first we need to help you set up your account so that you can register for events, pay invoices, etc. Here is a step by step process to create your account.

  1. Open your internet browser and go to the CMAA CT Chapter's website.
  2. In the top right corner of the browser find where it says ‘Member Area’. Click ‘Member Area’
  3. You should now see a text box allowing members to log in. As you have not set up your CMAA CT Chapter account yet you will not be able to login. Instead find and click where it says ‘Forgot Username/Password?’.
  4. On the next page you will see a field where you can enter your email address. This is the email address that is associated with your CMAA membership. Enter your email here and click ‘Submit’
  5. You will now return to the ‘Members Log In’ page and you should see a message notifying you that an email has been sent. If you entered an incorrect email address, you will see an error message appear notifying you that the email is not on file. Refer to ‘Trouble Logging In?’ if you are not able to recall the email address associated with your CMAA membership.
  6. Now take a look in your email, both the inbox and junk/spam folders. In the email you should see a link that will let you change your password. Click the link and you will be brought back to the CMAA CT Chapter website where you will be able to enter a new password, re-enter the new password, and click ‘Submit’.
  7. Once you hit ‘Submit’ you will once again return to the ‘Members Log In’ page and you should see a message notifying you that the password has been reset.
  8. Below that message you should see the text box allowing members to log in. It is asking for your CMAA CT Chapter ID and password. You can enter either of the following two things into the CMAA CT Chapter ID field;
    1. Your email address associated with your CMAA National account.
    2. Your six (6) digit CMAA Member ID.
  9. In the password field enter the new password that you just created and click ‘Login’. You now should be brought into your ‘Member Area’ and can see options to view your account info, downloads, and order history along the left side of your browser.
  10. When you are done, click ‘Log Out’. For all future registrations you will be prompted to enter this same email/ID and password, so remember to make a note of your login information.

Just Joined CMAA or Recently Transferred to the CMAA CT Chapter?

We in the CMAA CT Chapter understand that members join our organization at different times throughout the year and not necessarily at the beginning of a month. We are looking to work with our members to make sure they can register for events as members even if they are not in our system yet. Here is an easy work around if you find that we do not have you in our system yet, but you would still like to register for an event.

  1. Identify the event / program that you would like to attend, find and click the ‘Register Now’ button.
  2. On the next page you will see the option to login as a member or continue as a guest. Before you go any further you should try one last time to log in as a member, even try following the steps above to log in for the first time.  If that still does not work, click ‘Continue as Guest’.
  3. Enter your contact information; your First Name, Last Name, and Email is the only fields that are required. Click ‘Continue’ when ready.
  4. On the next page you can go ahead and click ‘Add’ for a Federal/State/Local Guest Ticket ($15/each). A pop up window will ask to confirm your information, but you can just click ‘Add’.
  5. Click ‘Continue’ to go to the next page.
  6. On the next page review your order and click ‘Continue’ when you are satisfied.
  7. On the Payment Information page, you can click ‘Bypass Payment’. By hitting this you will be fully registered and you can bring the member rate cost ($25) with you to the event in either cash or check.
  8. You should also email to notify us of your situation and we will make sure to keep an eye on the situation during the next Import Period.

Still Having Trouble Logging In?

If you are still having trouble after trying all of the first options outlined, you should contact CMAA National membership@cmaanet.org to identify the email address that is associated with your account. With that information you should be able to go back and complete the steps outlined in ‘Forgot your Username and/or Password?’
